Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children

Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children - Ransom Riggs Thisbook started really good. I really got into the gothic/fearful mood, and the writing was captivating. however, the events changed dramatically at some point. I'd say that it took a bad turn (for me) when the mystery was unfolding. The more i read what was happening, the less interesting it was becoming. It felt as if the author decided that, after all, it is better to trade the freaky-like story, to spotlight a fairytale context.
